Overview

ZXR10 3900E series switches introduced by ZTE Corporation focus on the implementation of all-service IP bearer network. In order to enable services to access bearer network, they use integrated platform to implement data, voice, video and mobile services. With highly reliable software and hardware architecture, excellent switching capacity and performance, convenient operating and management tool, ZTE ZXR10 3900E series switches are good at building carrier-class bearer network for sustaining development.

Features

  • Carrier-class reliability
    ZXR10 3900E series uses modular power supply system to provide redundant backup. By supporting hotswappable mechanism, it features powerful recovery capability when encountering disaster and flexible failure processing capability. All line-out is designed on front including power cable and net cable. It supports 3-port alarm input and 5-port controlling.
  • SES (Super Extendable Stacking)
    SES can integrate the resources of several switches to expand the overall switching capacity and port density, and in this way, several switches can be put together as one super switch. Compared with the stacking technology in the past, SES is essentially an extendable stacking technology. Super Switch, which uses SES stacking technology, is not independent switch units essentially, but a distributed switch (Chassis) system.
  • Energy Saving and Environment Protection
    With windless and mute fan system, the low power consumption of ZXR10 3900E is famous in the industry. ZXR10 3900E have 220mm deep, small size, light weight and large capacity, which help the carrier to save the energy and reduce the requirements for deployment environment efficiently.
  • Interfaces
    ZXR10 3900E series middle/low-end L3 intelligent Ethernet switches provide a high density of Ethernet ports.
  • Full Wire-speed forwarding and filtering
    ASIC hardware switching is used to ensure the wire speed running of L2, L3 and IPv6 switching. ASIC hardware filtering is used to ensure packets filtering on L2-L7 and wire speed running of L2-L4 ACL.

Architecture and Key Components

By using latest and leading ASIC hardware forwarding technology in the industry, most forwarding features are performed by hardware, which ensures the port with wire-speed forwarding capability. Within the ASIC, L2 switching, IPv4 routing, IPv6 routing and the flow filtering of L2-L7 are performed at wire-speed.

The software system of the ZXR10 3900E series routing switches take the ZXROS distributed large-scale routing platform software as its core. As the result of our long years’ efforts in data products, this platform software also serves the ZXR10 series high-end routers and switches. It provides a great variety of protocol stacks required for L2, L3, MPLS and IPv6, and provides unified interfaces to its lower layer. 

The NM and Operation & Maintenance module provides the user management interface for the switch. This module allows users to manage and operate with the switch through a wide variety of means such as Telnet, SSH, and SNMP.
